blood. ✕ amazarashi project of two creators who continue to question the meaning of life, “Common Language,” has started.
2022.03.23
We have decided to start a project called ``Common Language,'' a correspondence project with the popular manga ``Chi.,'' which is being serialized in ``Big Comic Spirits,'' which has sold over 2 million copies in total.
``Chi.'' is a work that asks readers about the value and meaning of life, based on the heliocentric theory, and through the lives of people who pursued intelligence and truth as something more important than their own lives. This project was started by manga artist Uotoyo, who is a fan of amazarashi, and although rock and manga are different expressions, each expresses the suffering of modern society, heartlessness, frustration, despair, and what lies beyond. This is an experiment in which two creators who have created hope will have a conversation with each other through the announcement of their new works, as they each announce their latest works.
The first one is from Mr. Uotoyo to amazarashi. The illustration was inspired by the song "1.0" from the album "七号線ロストボーイズ". This original illustration will be released on a special website starting today.

Furthermore, the music video for "1.0", created using the illustration drawn by Mr. Uotoyo as a motif, will be premiered on March 30th, when the 7th volume of the "Chi." comic will be released. In addition, advance distribution of "1.0" will begin on the same day, and the new song "1.0" will be aired for the first time on J-WAVE (81.3FM) "SONAR MUSIC" broadcast from 10:00 pm on March 23rd.
From now on, as part of the second installment, amazarashi will present a work to "Chi." Hiromu Akita has written a new song with the theme of "Chi." and it is scheduled to be released on June 30th, the release date of the 8th and final volume of "Chi.". Please stay tuned for ``Common Language,'' a tribute project in which two creators create new works while inspiring each other.
[Comments from both parties regarding the collaboration]
amazarashi Hiromu Akita
"blood. I was devastated and depressed for a while. At the same time, I gained a lot of courage.
I was overwhelmed by the work itself and the characters' faith and determination, and I felt like I was far beyond the goal line of ``I can make it this far.''
Our song may be a redundant addition to this work, which is like the accumulation of time and passion, but we would like to write a new song with all our heart.
Uotoyo-san, thank you for collaborating with amazarashi.
Uotoyo
I am very honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with amazarashi, whom I respect and respect.
His melodies and aphorisms have a texture and weight that can only be found there.
The sharp tension they create has been refined over time, and in their new songs, it has been transformed into a solid inclusiveness.
I decided to draw this illustration in hopes of imitating, even a little, the tranquil belief and voluminous amount of information that are common to the music of" amazarashi."
Well then, I will return to being a fan and will continue to listen to your works in the future.
Listening to amazarashi will surely be the oxygen for me (and other listeners as well) to swim through the ocean of going from 0 to 1.
